The public library is open every Saturday to Wednesday from 9 am to 5 pm and the public library is closed every Thursday and Friday including other public holidays declared by the government.

Future Plan
Future development plan of District Government Public Library Jhenaidah

1. Upward expansion of the library building: Expansion of the one-storey building of the public library to four floors.

2. Implementation of Online Public Library Management System: Introduction of Online Library Management System at District Government Public Library Jhenaidah through a project titled Online Public Library Management System and Implementation of Related Works in collaboration with the Department of Public Libraries.
3. Establishment of Government Public Libraries at Upazila level: Establishment of Upazila Government Public Libraries in different Upazilas of Jhenaidah District in collaboration with the Department of Public Libraries under the project titled 'Establishment of Upazila Culture Centers'.
4. Introduction of mobile libraries in all upazilas: To introduce mobile library services in all upazilas of Jhenaidah district through the project titled 'Mobile Library' proposed by the Department of Public Libraries.
5. Providing library services using modern information and communication technology: Ensuring the use of modern information and communication technology to bring services to the doorsteps of the people through the construction of Digital Bangladesh announced by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

6. To make people of all walks of life interested in books: To make people of all walks of life in the district interested in books and to make them well-educated, responsible, aware and good citizens.

7. Building a happy and prosperous Bangladesh: Awakening of human values, freedom of thought, clarity of conscience, breadth of knowledge, patriotism, ethics, building a good character, building an ideal human being and working to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh.
